Rules for taking courses(Fall 2017/2018)

Individual research  The student must take “individual research” in each semester. That class will be graded by one’s     advisor. The student must pass at least two semesters of individual research prior to graduation.
Seminar  Prior to graduation, one must pass a thesis seminar. 
Required course 
  • ►Special Topics on Biomedical Engineering ( 3 credit)
  • ► Individual research
Others 
  • Not counting the “Special Topics on Biomedical Engineering,” “Individual Research,” and the thesis seminar, students need to earn a total of at least 24 credits.
  • At least 9 of those credits need to come from courses taught within the Institute. 
  • The remaining 15 credits can come from courses taught outside the institute on the institute’s approved list.  (If a course is not on the list of courses approved by the institute, with approval by the student’s advisor, an application needs to be submitted to the institute director for special course approval BEFORE THE DEADLINE FOR ONLINE CLASS REGISTRATION. No late applications will be accepted. )
  • Students must pass at least 2 professional course taught in English given or approved by Institutes of Biomedical Engineering at NCTU (Note: Except seminar courses.)
