Guidelines on the Course Selection
【Guidelines on the Course Selection for master’s students in the Institute of Biomedical Engineering】
- Master’s students of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering must have completed at least 24 credits of courses offered or approved by the Institute before graduation.
- The courses offered by the Institute are divided into three divisions:
- Division A: Biomedical Informatics and Systems
- Division B: The Components and Technology of Nano Photonic and Electronic Biomedical Detection
- Division C: Biomedical Materials and Clinical Applications
- Students are required to complete at least two courses each in any two divisions of the Institute before graduation. (A total of at least 4 courses and 12 credits.)
- Students who want to graduate with credits of courses not offered by the Institute nor included in the list of the courses approved by the Institute must have the Institute Director’s signature of acknowledgement after the advisor’s approval.
- Any changes in the courses offered or approved by the Institute are subject to the announcement of the Curriculum Division of the Office of Academic Affairs of National Chiao Tung University.
- Please note the following:
- Students must take “Independent Study” every semester;
- Both “Special Topics in Biomedical Sciences and Engineering” and “Thesis in the Biological Science and Technology” are required courses;
- Students are also required to take two advanced English courses offered or approved by the Institute.
- Applicable to all new students enrolled in 2019 academic year and thereafter.
